Attempting to save a marriage in dissolution with a pleasant weekend in the countryside is an old recipe. However, when sisters Miriam (Madeleine Sims-Fewer, also the writer and director) and Greta (Anna Maguire) reunite after many years apart, it doesn't take long for old conflicts to resurface, and loyalties are put to the test. After a cozy evening by the fire ends with Miriam being assaulted by a close relative, a chain of events is set in motion that leaves no one unscathed.
The writer and director duo, Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli, have previously explored relationships and the effects of trauma in several short films. In their formally daring feature film debut, they chronicle the consequences of sexual assault in a fragmented chronology. It's a well-played and brutal film that leaves no one unaffected.
